Who said that meditating is just closing your eyes?
Contemplation is a silent yet profoundly active practice: an invitation to open your senses to the present and let each experience become a doorway to calm.
You can start by observing a candle or a flower. Fix your gaze, notice the nuances of color, texture, the light vibrating in its form. There's no need to search for anything: just look and allow the moment to inhabit you.
You can also listen. A Tibetan singing bowl, birdsong, or the sound of the passing wind. Listen without judging, without interpreting, without naming. Just be there, in the vibration of the instant.
Smell is another path: an essential oil, the aroma of tea, or the scent of the air after rain. Breathe in, feel, and linger for a second in that sensation that awakens something within -- a memory or an emotion being released.
And touch: the skin, clothing on the body, the temperature of the air. Every contact is an opportunity to return to the here and now.
When the senses awaken, the mind learns to be still. Contemplation transforms the everyday into the sacred; it turns an ordinary instant into a moment of deep connection.
Meditation exercise to practice at home
Find a quiet place. Sit comfortably, with your back straight and feet resting on the floor or crossed on your mat.
Close your eyes for a moment and take three deep breaths.
Choose a sense: sight, hearing, smell, or touch.
For example, observe the flame of a candle or listen to the sounds around you.
Don't try to concentrate: simply notice what appears, without judging or changing anything.
If your mind wanders, come back to the sensation, to the air, to the now.
Stay like this for a few minutes, until you feel your body softening and your breath finding its rhythm.
That is meditation: being present in what is already happening.
At EYO Yoga Madero, we combine meditation, sound, and breathwork so you can discover this mindful awareness in every gesture, in every breath, in every day of your life.
Come experience it in Puerto Madero: your space to pause, feel, and contemplate.
