Learn how yoga can help you let go of the past and close the year with calm, presence, and gratitude. A simple guided practice to release emotions and renew your energy.
Closing cycles, opening space
The end of the year invites us to look back. Sometimes with nostalgia, other times with exhaustion or anxiety. We want to close chapters, but we also find it hard to let go.
Yoga teaches that letting go is not forgetting, but releasing the attachment that binds us to what has already completed its cycle. Each conscious breath is a way to do it: we inhale acceptance, we exhale what weighs us down.
The physiology of letting go
When we breathe deeply, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system, responsible for rest and regeneration. That physiological pause calms the mind and reminds the body that it can stop fighting.
The physical act of exhaling is, in itself, a spiritual teaching: to let go is to trust.
Guided practice: releasing through the breath
- Sit comfortably on your yoga mat.
- Close your eyes and place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen.
- Inhale through your nose while mentally repeating "I accept."
- Exhale through your mouth while repeating "I release."
- Repeat for a few minutes, until your body softens.
"Letting go is not giving up -- it's making room for what's new."
At EYO Yoga Madero, we accompany you in closing the year with serenity through yoga, meditation, and conscious breathing.
