At Eyo Yoga, we believe the true journey is always an inward one. That's why our retreats are not a pause from everyday life, but an invitation to return to our own center. In each gathering, we seek much more than stretching the body or calming the mind: we seek to inhabit our being.
A return to the source
Daily life is full of stimuli, demands, and automatisms that pull us away from what's essential. Sometimes, even our spiritual practices become routines rather than tools for transformation.
Our retreats are designed as spaces for conscious pause, where silence, the body, and nature become portals to something deeper: the encounter with who we are when everything else falls away.
In simple terms: it's not just about practicing yoga or meditation, but about experiencing an inner state we rarely access in the frantic pace of the city. We want our students to take away something that can't easily be named, but that transforms.
What happens at an Eyo Yoga retreat?
We design each retreat as a carefully guided journey. From the moment we hand out the first journal upon boarding the bus, to the final circle by the lake, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to support a process of introspection, connection, and expansion.
The schedule includes moments of:
- Conscious movement, with yoga practices that vary in intensity to match the rhythm of the day and the body.
- Meditation, not as an end in itself, but as a way to fine-tune our inner listening.
- Reflection workshops, where we use writing, dialogue, and symbols (such as stones, drops of nectar, or magnets) to explore our own emotional and spiritual processes.
- Group encounters, where words, silence, and shared presence open a space for authenticity.
- Nature, because we believe that healing also means rooting ourselves again in the earth that sustains us.
Every activity is imbued with a clear intention: to remind us who we are when we stop running.
What makes our retreats special
Some retreats focus on technique, physical demands, or escapism. At Eyo Yoga, we choose a different path. Our focus is not to "disconnect you," but to reconnect you with the truest part of yourself.
We know that healing is not always comfortable, and that's why we create a caring, loving, and respectful environment. The introspection, the silence of the room, the altar we build together, the stone that symbolizes what's hard to let go of... Everything is designed to create a deep yet held experience, where you can surrender without having to "do more."
Moreover, the emotional support doesn't end with the last class. We are here to hold what opens up, both during the retreat and upon returning to everyday life. Because what matters isn't what happens on that day, but how what opens up can transform you afterward.
A journal, a path, a commitment
The journals we give out are not decorative notebooks. They are tools for personal exploration, small records of this inward journey. They invite you to observe the body, the emotions, and the thoughts with honesty. Writing by hand, after so much digital stimulation, allows us to return to a more authentic rhythm. One that beats in time with the heart.
As part of the retreat, we also explore the warrior's path, inspired by the teachings of Carlos Castaneda and Don Juan. It helps us see that this process is not just a "break," but a life practice: living with intention, acknowledging our shadows, releasing our personal story, and choosing from a freer and more conscious place.
Today I return to myself
We close each retreat with a phrase that comes from within: "Today I return to myself with..." It might be peace, clarity, strength, tenderness, or a unique blend that only each participant can name. That phrase becomes an anchor for returning to oneself, whenever routine or fear threaten to pull us away from what we discovered that day.
Why do we hold retreats?
Because we believe there are moments when the soul needs silence, the body needs earth, and the heart needs to tell itself the truth.
And because sometimes, we just need to remember this:
We are not lost. We were just distracted.
And if there's a place worth returning to, it's ourselves.
Are you ready?
We'd love to take this journey together.
See you on the mat.
