Why Do Yoga Classes End in Savasana?

At the end of every yoga practice comes that unique moment: lying on your back, body relaxed, arms and legs loose, eyes closed. It looks easy, but it is one of the most profound postures: Savasana, the corpse pose.

The spiritual meaning

In the yoga tradition, Savasana symbolizes a small "death" of the old: letting go of tensions, thoughts, and emotions that no longer serve us, in order to be reborn lighter.
It is a reminder that everything in life has cycles: action and rest, inhaling and exhaling, being born and letting go. In Savasana, the ego quiets down and we allow ourselves to simply be.

Spiritually, it is a doorway to inner silence. A moment where the body disappears and consciousness can expand.

At EYO Yoga Madero

In our classes in Puerto Madero, we always dedicate the closing to Savasana because we understand it is the seal of the practice: the place where everything worked on in the body and breath comes together in an experience of wholeness.

Sometimes we accompany it with sound baths using Tibetan singing bowls or handpan, enhancing the relaxation and guiding the practitioner into a near-meditative state.

The next time you reach Savasana, don't think of it as "the final rest," but as the true heart of the practice.
It is the moment where the body lets go, the mind goes quiet, and the soul smiles in silence.

At EYO Yoga Madero, we invite you to experience it with calm, with soul, and with yourself at the center.
